Returned to Central HS
in 2008. Says it was to be an assistant basketball coach and teach
Math…We think Scott made the move when he found out a position was open
with Central HS football
broadcasts on SportsGumbo.net!...Now coaches Basketball and
Baseball for the Wildcats….Might have to give up all of these
responsibilities if his announcing duties are too
time-consuming!?!...Combined age of Scott and broadcasting partner
Josh Ward is less
than some of the luminaries (err…octogenarians) featured in BIO section
of SportsGumbo.net…Scott’s first 2 choices to join him in Central booth
were Erin Andrews and Jill Arrington (Editors note: both were too busy,
being involved with Jon Fine…prior
to Jon’s alarm clock ringing)…Everyone enjoyed times when Scott made
appearances on THE High School
Sports Show. This was not necessarily due to Scott’s on-air
performance. It’s more that when Scott came to the show, he brought
along his lovely wife Hollee. Plus, that would usually mean that future
Central Principal Victoria Eskola (with husband Thomas) would be in the
house…From New Orleans…Bachelors and Masters from LSU (Doctorate coming
up from Central?)…A Manager and Administrative Assistant for Dale Brown
and John Brady at LSU between ’95-’00. Readers, you may insert your
punch line here…Previously taught and coached (basketball, baseball,
football and other sports) at Central from 00-07…Served as Walker Head
Basketball Coach in 07-08…Proud father of 2 baby girls, Allison and
Baylee…Second one, Baylee, born in month of July, after egregiously
fathering his first child, Allison, in the middle of basketball
season…Only person on SportsGumbo.net crew shorter than Jon. Major
reason he was hired…Very knowledgeable on a wide-array of sports. If he
was not a mature, responsible person, would make an ideal sports-talk
host!..Has
overcome these traits to write an outstanding column for our
weekly newsletter.
Scott Osborne is the color commentator for Central HS football
broadcasts on WPFC, 1550AM, Baton Rouge and right here, at SportsGumbo.net. He also writes a weekly column, The
Wizardry of Os, for SportsGumbo.net Newsletter.
